Education Principles:

We believe that educating people in the principles and practices of natural birth is as important as the birthing process itself. Having a thorough and careful understanding of birth empowers women to adopt sound strategies for achieving a natural birth for their baby.

Class Preparation:

Unlike antenatal classes run by hospitals, our classes educate you on how to best achieve a natural birth for you and your baby. You will be guided on how to prepare, the necessary equipment and purchases - how labour commences, how your chosen support people can assist you in pre-labour, 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th stage (early breastfeeding) birthing and above all how you can work with your body.

We focus on the important emotional and spiritual aspects of birth, as well as the physical. We offer you sound, natural strategies to deal with each stage of labour. Throughout the course we offer strategies and methods for accepting those time
when an unexpected outcome may occur.

Educators Qualifications:

During the classes you will be cared for and nurtured in your learning journey by
capable and caring educators with decades of birthing experience.

Our childbirth education classes are run by two professionals (one educator & one midwife), each with over 30 years experience in natural birth.

Childbirth Class Schedule:

The classes are conducted during 4 consecutive Saturdays - each class is three hours long - they are conducted between 10-1 p.m and commence on the first Saturday of each month. Alternative times are arranged if class exceeds four couples.

Class Fee Schedule:

The total fee for 2 people each attending 12 hours education is $350.00 (non-refundable and payable at the first class).

Who can attend?

Our classes are available for all pregnant women and their partners to attend, regardless of whether or not you are using our birthing services.
We are happy for one other extra support person to attend the Breast-feeding session - the 4th class.  This appears to help with continuity of information (i.e great for grandparents if they are going to be staying with you or visiting during the first two weeks after your birth).

Bookings:

We do our best to arrange for no more than four couples to attend any one class - this allows for privacy.
